Delicious Crunch is a food blog about easy recipes and seasonal dishes made for everyday cooking. The focus here is simple, practical meals using basic ingredients, the kind you can make without overthinking and still enjoy at the end of the day.

Hi, I'm Shem, the home cook behind the blog.
I cook daily and learned everything by doing. I'm self-taught, not a chef, and most of what I know comes from years of cooking at home, watching cooking shows, and figuring things out one meal at a time. Most days, I'm just cooking regular meals at home and writing down the ones that turn out really good. I naturally gravitate toward quick, easy, comforting food made with familiar ingredients.
I've been blogging since I was 19, starting with small lifestyle and personal blogs because I liked having a space online to share things. This blog started in 2020 while I was living in California. Around that time, I began seeing blogging as something I could build and grow, not just a hobby. When I looked back at what I searched for the most, it was always recipes and ideas for what to cook for dinner, so starting a food blog felt like the right fit.

In the beginning, I shared more Asian-style recipes based on the food I grew up with along with. I'm Filipino, and that background shaped how I started cooking. Living in California introduced me to a different food culture. Pasta was an everyday staple there, while back home in the Philippines it's usually prepared for birthdays and special occasions. I also grew to love American breakfasts, the variety of salads, and the many side dishes built around seasonal produce. Even pumpkin was new to me. We mostly have one kind in the Philippines, but I discovered there were many types used in different recipes. Over time, those experiences naturally shifted my cooking toward simple comfort meals and seasonal dishes.

My recipes aren't meant to be fancy or technical. I focus on meals that are quick to prepare, use basic ingredients, and fit into real everyday life. Some are tested on purpose, and some come from regular dinners that turned out too good not to share.
I also share recipe roundups for inspiration when you're not sure what to cook. I enjoy gathering ideas from other food bloggers and putting them in one place to make meal planning easier. We call it roundups in the food blogging world. An example of a roundup: 35 Best Recipes Using Rotisserie Chicken.

This space has become my way of collecting and sharing the food I make at home while continuing to learn along the way.
If you're looking for easy comfort food, simple seasonal recipes, and meals you can actually make on a busy day, you'll feel at home here.
