Today I share my favorite smoothie recipes without yogurt. Who loves smoothies? Raise your hand! Who loves yogurt with their smoothies? Not me.
I do love smoothies, especially in the morning. Next to water and tea, it’s what I usually consume when I wake up. I love that it’s nutritiously refreshing and healthy.
The first best thing you can love about smoothies is how you can make them into many variations of your favorite fruits. You can add kale, spinach, or collard greens for a unique taste.
If you are not the veggie-eating kind of person but want to be healthy at the same time, why not make a smoothie with veggies? Because it's so rich and smooth, you won't even notice or taste the vegetables at all. It's like a drinkable salad with no bitter taste.
Secondly, it’s so easy to make and flexible. You can make it from the most basic ingredients or lavish it with ice cream and protein powder.
I add low-fat milk most of the time and also tried adding coconut water or fruit juices for added booze. Mixing in yogurt is just not my cup of tea. So each time I make smoothies, I do them sans yogurt.
But don't get me wrong. I like yogurt, just not with smoothies. Yogurt is in fact good. It's a good source of calcium, protein, Vitamin D, and probiotics that are good for your digestive system.
But not every yogurt is created equal. Some yogurt has so much sugar, artificial flavors, and saturated fat in it which are not good for the health because it feeds the bad bacteria in your gut.
The fruits in these recipes are available whole year round at your local groceries.
Did you know?
Because of the invention of the electric blender, the smoothie was born in the 1930s. [Wikipedia]

bananas, avocados, coconut milk or even non dairy ice cream is a good replacement for yogurt but I prefer peanut butter. My mum is a diabetic so I have to find ways to make it healthy for her as well. But she hates the texture of yogurt so she won't eat it .My peanut butter banana smoothie works great.
It's 1cup peanut butter, 2bananas,milk, ice the last two vary depending on how thick you like your smoothie but I hope this helps.
